About The Capital Region Miracle League
The Miracle League was founded in April 2000 after a parent noticed a disabled child sitting on the sidelines, cheering for his brother during a baseball game. That started the drive for the first Miracle League baseball field in Conyers, Georgia. Since that time, over 60 other Miracle League fields have sprung up across the United States, with another 100 or so under construction. However, up to this point there have not been any in upstate New York.
With the help of the many dedicated sponsors and the Town of East Greenbush, who has generously provided space in the town park, The Capital Region Miracle League has established the Jaime Adams Field. This field will be the first multi-sport Miracle League field in New York State and is expected to serve those special-needs children within a 100 mile radius of East Greenbush. The Capital Region Miracle League will officially open Jaime Adams Field on May 16, 2009.
The Capital Region Miracle League is led by a talented and generous Board of Directors who are working to improve the lives of children with special needs in the Capital Region.
